Structural Engineer

Mr. Shiromal Fernando is the Managing Director of Civil & Structural Engineering Consultants (Pvt) Limited. Mr. Fernando holds a B.Sc. Engineering (Hons) in Civil Engineering and an MPhil Degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.

Undoubtedly known as the best Structural Engineer in the construction industry in Sri Lanka, Shiromal has been involved in projects such as the Lotus Tower, Grand Hyatt, Waterfront and Colombo-Katunayake Highway, to name a few.

He is a member of the Sri Lanka Standards Institute (SLS), Technical Advisory Committee, Disaster Management Centre, Sri Lanka, Vice Chairman at the Green Building Council Sri Lanka (2010), and Country Representative at the Council on Tall Buildings & Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

Project Manager

Mr. Nirosha Palpita has 19 years of experience in Civil Engineering. He has worked with Sanken Lanka joint venture with Mitsui (Japan), and design experience under United Structural Engineers.

Mr. Palpita was also Head of tsunami re-construction operations for the Red Cross Society and as a Project Manager for Savant International UK based Company in Ukraine.

He has worked as a consultant in Project Management for the University of Moratuwa, for the Lotus Tower project.

Mr. Palpita held the position of Senior Civil Engineer for Grand Hyatt hotel until recently.

He holds a BSC (Civil Engineering) Degree and MSc in Specialized Buildings from Vladimir State University of Russia and an MSc in Project Management from the University of Moratuwa.

Architect

We are privileged to have Mr. Dan Ameresekere, an award winning Sri Lankan Architect associated with Kings View Residencies.

Mr. Ameresekere, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture and Economics from the prestigious Yale University, USA, and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, USA. He worked at the Architects 61 Pte Ltd in Singapore before moving back to Colombo and establishing his own architectural firm- Design One Pvt Ltd.

Whilst in Singapore he gained extensive experience designing luxury condominium projects and high rise buildings. He was personally involved in major projects like Changi Airport Terminal 1, Little India MRT, The Pinnacle Collection Condominium, The Seascape(Sentosa Cove) in Singapore, Hayleys and Kingsbury in Sri Lanka.

Project Manager

Mr. Anura Kumarapeli has 17 years of experience in the construction industry, from Site Engineer to Project Manager both in Sri Lanka and overseas.

He was Project Engineer for Colombo Lotus Tower for the Consultancy Unit of the University of Moratuwa. He was Senior Engineer for the tsunami recovery program and Indian housing project launched by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescents in Sri Lanka, Marine Engineer and Survey Coordinator for TOA cooperation Japan in Reclamation projects in Singapore and Project Engineer for Hong Giap Sdn Bhd in Malaysia.

Mr. Kumarapeli Holds a Bsc Engineering Honours Degree from the University of Moratuwa, and followed special short courses in Construction Management, High Way Engineering, Disaster Resistant Building and Sewerage and Waste Water Systems conducted by the University of Moratuwa and Peradeniya. He holds an associate membership at the Institute of Engineers Sri Lanka, Society of Structural Engineering and Society of Geotechnical Engineering.
